In this week’s My Abbey Road we bring you Kate Musker!

Renowned viola player, member of the Michael Nyman Band and frequent face in the studios and corridors of Abbey Road.

 

Kate has made Studio One her home over the past 30 years. Her work can be heard on many of the scores recorded here including News Of The World, Halo 5: Guardians and such series as Fantastic Beasts, The Hunger Games, and Jurassic World.

"It's such a pleasure to play a score in that incredible acoustic space and really feel the full impact of the music before the dub."

 

Kate's Favourite Memory

"I remember doing Enemy At The Gates for James Horner, with a massive screen across the back of the studio so he could conduct to picture, and one of the musicians was so overcome by the combination of film and music that they had to leave the session for a while."
