Today marks the arrival of the fourth instalment of our
Live Cuts series. Produced in association with
Because Music, this new episode sees
Jeshi perform live versions of
Hurricane from recent album
Airbag Woke Me Up and
Sick from his 2022 album
Universal Credit. These recordings have been cut to vinyl and are available for pre-order and to stream on DSPs now
here.
Jeshi says
"Was mad to do these new versions of the songs at Abbey Road, so much history there. We’ve been working on the live show a lot and it’s sick to be able to bring it together here".Celebrating the craft of recording and mastering, and echoing the way music was originally recorded when Abbey Road opened in 1931, the Live Cut sessions result in a 12” single for each release, with the tracks also made available on streaming platforms. Each episode is accompanied by an exclusive short film illuminating the creative and technical processes, alongside an interview with the artist. The launch season for
Live Cuts is presented in association with Because Music, in celebration of the acclaimed label’s 20th anniversary. Previous episodes featured
Amadou & Mariam,
Crystal Murray and
LSDXOXO.
East London artist
Jeshi has racked up over 32m streams since releasing his first EP Pussy Palace in 2016, with three further EPs following before his debut album
Universal Credit in 2022. Last month he released his latest critically acclaimed album
Airbag Woke Me Up, which explores themes around emerging from tough times, and viewing the world a little differently, it is bold in ambition and built with a renewed energy.
