ITV drama series 'Unforgotten' Soundtrack Recorded at Abbey Road

30th July 2018
Critically acclaimed ITV drama series Unforgotten, is centred around a historical crime, unravelling secrets left buried for years. Created by Chris Lang, starring Nicola Walker and Sanjeev Bhaskar, the unmissable drama is currently showing every Sunday at 9pm on ITV. However, the driving force behind each episode is the original score composed by Abbey Road regular Michael Price. It is now the third series of the drama, with each score recorded and composed by Price at Abbey Road. Michael kindly spoke to us about the importance of recording at Abbey Road:

Since my first visit to Abbey Road, as a student in 1989, I have been passionately in love with this place. The recording spaces, all so different, each have a unique sonic character, and I've been lucky enough to make music in all of them. For me, though, it's the people that continue to make Abbey Road the thriving, relevant musical hub that it is today.

Whether it's Doreen in the canteen, Lester in the mic store, any of the fabulous assistants, or the world-class in-house engineers, there is a joy and a love of recording as an art form, and a real pride in the place Abbey Road has played in its history, that makes every visit special. I just hope I can add my own tiny footnote to that history, and keep recording there for many years to come. An in-depth look at recording the music for the second series of ITV's Unforgotten: Recorded in Studio Three and performed by The London Metropolitan Orchestra. Assisted by Matt Mysko and Paul Pritchard.
