There’s a new Fontaines D.C. album on the way!
Fontaines D.C. have announced their anticipated third album, Skinty Fia which will be out 22 April via Partisan Records. Pre-order on limited-edition red vinyl from the Abbey Road Shop.
For it, they once again worked with producer Dan Carey as well as with our own Christian Wright for mastering, who has also mastered previous albums Dogrel in 2019 and GRAMMY-nominated A Hero’s Death in 2020.
The album's title is an Irish phrase that translates to "the damnation of the deer," whose meaning has been Anglicised and diluted over the years. The extinct Irish giant deer represents Ireland's identity for the band, and what it means to be Irish in 2022, even as they move away from home, is a theme explored on the album.
The first single from Skinty Fia is the driving Jackie Down the Line, that comes with a colourful video directed by Hugh Mulhern which you can watch below.
