With thousands of scores created at Abbey Road Studios over the last 43 years, Scala Radio presenter and film critic
Mark Kermode has whittled down the list to 88 for listeners to choose between when the online poll opens on Friday 4 August.
From
The Lord of the Rings,
Braveheart and
Eyes Wide Shut to
Black Panther,
Avengers: Endgame and
Raiders of the Lost Ark, listeners can cast their vote by heading
HERE. Voting opens on 4 August and closes on 20 August.
Alongside the listener vote, Scala Radio have also created a new four-part Sunday evening series which explores the film scores that have been recorded at the iconic Abbey Road Studios over the decades.
Film Music at Abbey Road: Composer Spotlight will air each Sunday in August at 6pm from 6th August.
Episode one (TX 6th August) stars the Academy Award-nominated composer
Daniel Pemberton who will talk about recording his scores for
Steve Jobs,
The Trial of the Chicago 7,
Amsterdam,
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse and many more. Episode two (TX 13th August) features the double Oscar-winning composer
Alexandre Desplat who has recorded nearly 40 film scores at Abbey Road including
The King’s Speech,
The Shape of Water,
Fantastic Mr Fox and
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pts 1 & 2. The composers for the final two episodes of the series are currently TBC.
