Record Store Day 2019 releases from Abbey Road Studios

29th March 2019
With the annual Record Store Day celebrations fast approaching, it's time we showed you the exciting list of records our engineers have cut here at Abbey Road; from Queen and Chase & Status to Robyn and Dexy's Midnight Runners, we've got a lot for you to choose from.

First up is the debut reissue of British indie-rockers The Charlatans' 1999 album, Us and Us Only, pressed onto limited edition transparent vinyl, featuring the hits Forever, Impossible and My Beautiful Friend. Chase & Status next, who will be - for the first time ever - releasing the 2x Platinum selling 2011 album, No More Idols, on 180gram heavyweight yellow vinyl no less, featuring hits like Blind Faith, End Credits and Let You Go.

A homage to our very own Nile Rodgers follows, as Oliver Helden is remixing CHIC's biggest selling, global number one single, Le Freak. To celebrate its 40th anniversary, this release will feature Oliver Helden's remix on vinyl for the first time, as well as the original 1978 12" vocal mix, all on 12" black vinyl. Making its debut on vinyl, Dexys Midnight Runners' legendary At the BBC 1982 session will be pressed onto double green vinyl, featuring a not heard before Come On Eileen. Marking its 40th anniversary this year is Elton John's historic first tour of Russia, with a special BBC radio UK broadcast of his Moscow show, pressed onto 180g ultra-clear vinyl and cut by our very own Sean Magee here at Abbey Road. Celebrating the 40th anniversary of the iconic film, the soundtrack to Monty Python's Life Of Brian will be getting a special limited edition release on picture disc, featuring all new artwork and unseen material from the Monty Python archive.

The Police's number one single Message In A Bottle also celebrates 40 years, and will be re-released on double 7" bottle green and blue vinyl exclusively for Record Store Day, packaged in a bespoke 2x 7" special double pack gatefold sleeve. Following the success of the film this year, Queen will be releasing a limited edition single featuring Bohemian Rhapsody with I'm In Love With My Car as the original B-side, pressed onto purple and yellow half and half 7" vinyl, with spined outer sleeve and black inner bag. An exclusive version of Swedish singer-songwriter Robyn's seventh studio album Body Talk will comprise tracks from the Body Talk series for the first time on vinyl, pressed onto 180 gram white vinyl. And lastly, a special unreleased version of The Rolling Stones' She's A Rainbow (Live) at U Arena, Paris 25/10/17, will be arriving on limited edition 10" yellow vinyl.
