50 years on from the album's initial release on Thursday 1st June 1967, today we are celebrating "Sgt. Pepper Day" here at the studios - and what a day it's been!
We've already seen our famous crossing get Pepperised by fans first thing this morning, as well as swarms of fans flock to our wall to leave their Birthday messages and try out our special Snapchat filter for the day all to the soundtrack of the 50th Anniversary Edition of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.
The album was remixed specially to mark the occassion by Giles Martin alongside Abbey Road engineer Sam Okell, who in the interview below you can hear giving detail on exactly how the two of them went about bringing the much loved album up-to-date by applying modern techniques to the original master tapes.
