Mack’s interest in music was sparked when he began playing trumpet as a child. After following this path of trumpet playing up to Grade 7, his focus shifted to production around the age of 15 when he started experimenting with Logic and recording with friends. At this time he also taught himself piano, bass and guitar in an effort to improve his production skills.
Mack studied on the Tonmeister course at the University of Surrey and completed a placement at the Royal College of Music whilst continuing to work on contemporary production in his spare time, producing, engineering and mixing music such as Sandro Shar’s Purple Skies and Bing’s Azil and Nazin. After graduating, he went freelance (mostly back at RCM) as well as filming and recording live music.
Currently, Mack plays bass in a band and is working on a solo ambient/electronic project with hopes to release music later this year. He can’t wait to continue learning from the amazing recording staff, facilities team and musicians here at Abbey Road.
