Like many, Joe's journey into the music industry began by playing guitar in bands. His first trip into the magical Parr Street Studios opened his eyes to the world of recorded music. Inspired by this experience Joe began making recordings of his own; demos for the band and friends. Ready to take this more seriously, he enrolled on the Sound Technology degree course at The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts.
Between his studies Joe had the opportunity to spend time at Mark Knopfler's British Grove Studios; his first experience working in a commercial studio. After graduating LIPA, Joe landed his first studio job at The Motor Museum - assisting and learning from some great engineers. In his spare time he would also help out at Parr Street Studios.
Having an opportunity at Miloco Studios, Joe moved down to London taking the role of Assistant Engineer at their many studios across London; including The Pool, The Red Room and Livingston.
Since joining Abbey Road, Joe has worked with artists including Nile Rodgers & Chic, The Vaccines, London Grammar and Ringo Starr, as well as film score composers Danny Elfman, Alan Silvestri, Alexandre Desplat and Michael Giacchino.
"I've always seen Abbey Road Studios as the ultimate. So much history has been made here and there's much more to come. It's a privilege to be amongst that".
