Christian joined us at the age of 19. Starting off in the copy rooms, he graduated to the role of mastering engineer and has since gone on to master award-winning No.1 albums as well as soundtracks to No.1 films from both sides of the Atlantic.
Some of the biggest and respected names in music have had their albums mastered by Christian, including Ed Sheeran, Franz Ferdinand, Blur, Soft Hair, Kate Tempest, Bears Den, Keane, and Ben Frost. His skills in soundtrack production have been employed on the Oscar winning Gravity (No.1 in the USA and UK) composed by Steven Price, two Harry Potter films and The Master - composed by Radiohead's Jonny Greenwood.
Using a combination of analogue gear with advanced digital software, Christian has mastered tracks by some of the world's best known artists including LCD Soundsystem, Mumford and Sons, Coldplay, Ben Howard, Tuneyards, Ariel Pink, Bryan Ferry, You Me At Six, Swedish House Mafia, Laura Marling and Elvis Presley.
Christian has cut vinyl for Massive Attack, Radiohead, Arcade Fire, Cream, Elvis, Ella Fitzgerald and beyond.
Christian has organised and managed direct to vinyl sessions for BBC 6Music in celebration of Record Store Day. Future Islands cut an exclusive track for The Chase live to lacquer to mark Record Store Day 2015 and Kate Tempest to celebrate the 10th anniversary of RSD in 2017.
He's also highly respected for his work on international releases including recent films by Vishal Bhardwaj and other No.1 Bollywood releases.
Christian's musical interests aren't limited to mastering. He still plays live in a band (performing at festivals like Secret Garden Party), records as a multi-instrumentalist, avidly collects analogue gear from synths to outboard, and regularly records and mixes tracks, making him truly involved and helping him understand every aspect of the music creation process.
