Abbey Road houses one of the largest and most diverse microphone collections in the world. Arguably the most beautiful are the three gold and silver embossed microphones custom-built for the royal family during the ‘20s and ‘30s. They include the microphone used by George VI during Britain’s declaration of war on Germany, which years later was used at Abbey Road to add authenticity to the recording of the score to the Oscar-winning film The King’s Speech. In true Abbey Road style the engineers love using them to create unique synth and guitar layers, they also sound great on drums! This plugin stunningly recreates the original microphones and their unique frequency response.
