About TEDxLondonWomen

TEDxLondonWomen is a full day virtual experience featuring live TED-style talks, performances and interactive sessions. The theme “Showing Up” – is about bringing together women, non-binary and genderqueer people who are speaking up, breaking out and pushing boundaries.

This is your chance to spend the day with a theoretical physicist, a human rights barrister, a climate activist, a psychologist, a poet, a drag queen and more. Be warned - this is not your typical online event!
 

Who is it for?

Everyone - who is looking for ideas to help with pushing boundaries and #ShowingUp to face today’s challenges head-on. TEDxLondon is on a mission to encourage dialogue and engagement, create diverse inclusive spaces and foster debate and discussion that continues long after their events.
 

Meet The Speakers

 
Clover Hogan: 21-year-old climate activist and researcher on ecoanxiety. Clover has worked alongside the world’s leading authorities on sustainability, mobilised young minds in UK classrooms, and consulted within Fortune 500 companies.

Sophie Williams: leading anti-racism advocate, activist and writer, Sophie is the author of Anti-Racist Ally, and the upcoming book Millennial Black.
 
 
Temi Mwale: racial justice campaigner and the Founder & Executive Director of The 4Front Project – a member-led youth organisation empowering young people and communities to fight for justice, peace and freedom.

Claire Malone: PhD researcher in physics at the University of Cambridge, Claire analyses data from the Large Hadron Collider at CERN. She investigates the behaviour of the basic building blocks of our universe, whilst navigating her physical working environment through the restrictions of her cerebral palsy.
 
 
Dzifa Afonu: clinical psychologist currently based in the children and adolescent mental health service, they have over 9 years of experience working in the NHS and over 20 years of experience working in the charity sector with marginalised people.

Sangeetha Iengar: human rights barrister, writer and activist passionate about supporting the rights of the most vulnerable members of our global community.
 
 
Ebinehita Iyere: advocate for Black girls and Therapeutic Youth Practitioner supporting the emotional needs of young people in the community.

Helen Tupper and Sarah Ellis: founders of Amazing If – an award-winning career development company with an ambition to make work better for everyone, and co-hosts of the UK’s no.1 careers podcast, Squiggly Careers.
 
 
Pixie Turner: registered nutritionist, trainee psychotherapist, podcast host and science communicator, Pixie has developed a huge social media following and regularly shows up as a nutrition expert on BBC, Sky and Channel 5.

Bethany Rose: LGBT+ spoken word poet and illustrator who writes about sexuality and mental health. Beth’s poems ‘Lightbulb’ and ‘Pink’ received millions of views on BBC1 and BBC3.
 
 
Payzee Mahmod: a British Kurd who campaigns to raise awareness and eradicate harmful practices, such as FGM and child marriage, as a result of her own and her sister’s lived experiences.

Tom / Crystal Rasmussen: Lancashire-born author, journalist, screenwriter and drag queen, whose memoir, Diary of a Drag Queen, is currently being adapted for television.

Jamie Windust: presenter, model and contributing editor at Gay Times and author of, In Their Shoes: Navigating Non-Binary Life. Ben Hurst: activist, advocate, speaker, host, presenter, facilitator, trainer and model. Ben is also the co-host of TEDxLondon’s new podcast, Climate Curious.

Sofie Hagen: London-based Danish comedian, podcaster and fat liberation activist.
