Abbey Road Celebrates Golden Globe Success

Blockbuster film Avatar won two Golden Globe awards at the 67th annual ceremony on Monday 17th January for 'Best Motion Picture' and 'Best Director' - James Cameron.  Recorded and mixed by Abbey Road's Simon Rhodes the music, composed by James Horner, also received two Golden Globe nominations for 'Best Original Song 'Motion Picture' and 'Best Original Score 'Motion Picture'

Julie & Julia also received a Golden Globe award with Meryl Streep as 'Best Actress in a Motion Picture 'Comedy or Musical' and a further nomination for 'Best Motion Picture 'Comedy or Musical'.  French composer Alexandre Desplat's score was recorded by Abbey Road's Peter Cobbin.

Actress Emily Blunt also earned a nomination for her role as the Queen in The Young Victoria, the music for which was composed by Ilan Eshkeri and recorded at Abbey Road in Studio 1.

The Golden Globe Awards are presented annually by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) to recognise outstanding achievements in the entertainment industry, both domestic and foreign, and to focus wide public attention upon the best in motion pictures and television.
