Oscars 2009

The 81st Annual Academy Awards are almost upon us, and we're delighted to announce that the scores for three films nominated for major awards were either recorded at Abbey Road or recorded/mixed by Abbey Road engineers.
Defiance, recorded at Abbey Road by Simon Rhodes, has been nominated for Best Original Score (composed by James Newton Howard).
The Reader, recorded at Air Lyndhurst and mixed by Abbey Road's Simon Rhodes, has been nominated for Best Picture, Best Director (Stephen Daldry), Best Actress (Kate Winslet), Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best Cinematography.
Milk, recorded at Air Lyndhurst by Abbey Road's Peter Cobbin, has been nominated for Best Original Score (composed by Danny Elfman) Best Picture, Best Actor (Sean Penn), Best Supporting Actor (Josh Brolin), Best Director (Gus Van Sant), Best Original Screenplay, and Best Costume Design.
The ceremony takes place on 22nd February 2009.
